There are currently 5 to 6 million people in the United States who are suffering from Fibromyalgia, however, the real number of cases is probably much higher, as this condition is often misdiagnosed.
Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) is a rheumatic disorder characterized by chronic achy muscular pain with no obvious physical cause. It may be accompanied by chronic headaches, inflammation, strange sensations in the skin, insomnia, digestive problems, and many other symptoms.
Performing basic activities of daily living can be very difficult and painful for people who suffer from this condition and a significant number of people with Fibromyalgia are actually disabled by the condition. Depression can also accompany this disorder and stress may trigger its development.
Symptoms of Fibromyalgia
The most distinctive feature of Fibromyalgia is the existence of certain “tender points”. These points tend to cluster around the neck, shoulders, chest and hips, low back and legs. Other symptoms common in people with Fibromyalgia include the following:
-Dizziness and loss of balance.
-Extreme Fatigue.
-Headaches.
-Digestive problems.
-Memory loss and difficulty concentrating.
-Sensitivity to bright lights.
-Menstrual pain.
-Jaw pain.
-Stiffness in the morning and, often, when walking.
As you can see by looking at this list, it would be easy to misdiagnose a person with some of the symptoms listed. For example, some of these issues occur with chronic fatigue syndrome or arthritis and some with auto-immune diseases.
What is the Cause?
The medical community at large does not know the causes of Fibromyalgia; however, Evidence points to a problem with the immune system; certain immunologic abnormalities are common among people with Fibromyalgia.
The true causes of fibromyalgia can vary depending on each person. When a patient presents with unexplained symptoms a thorough evaluation is performed to help to determine the cause(s) of the condition. The causes of fibromyalgia can include:
· Genetic factors
· Stressful lifestyles
· Heavy metal toxicity
· Lack of quality sleep
· Hormonal changes
· Inflammation
· Adrenal Fatigue
· Epstein Barr Virus
· Candida overgrowth
· Thyroid imbalances
· Poor nutrition including ingestion of sugar and processed foods.
· Mold, pesticides, and environmental toxins
· Leaky gut syndrome
· Food allergies
· Bacterial infections
· Viral infections
· Parasites
· Gastrointestinal Disorders
· Autoimmune diseases
· Physical or emotional trauma

How We Treat Fibromyalgia
We believe that discovering and treating the underlying cause for the condition is the ideal solution. Often the pain of fibromyalgia is due to an infection or toxin affecting the energy producing areas of the tissues. These little energy manufacturing plants are called mitochondria. We also commonly find that the thyroid gland is not working up to par and that by nutritionally supporting the gland, we can get people feeling better very fast.
But fibromyalgia is often a multifactorial issue rather than a single issue and can differ from person to person. For this reason, all patient programs are individualized based on what is needed. We have successfully treated many patients by discovering the unique, underlying causes related to their condition.
Why We’re Different
Unlike most doctors we are not looking for “quick fix” symptom suppression that allows the underlying condition to fester and manifest into more serious health conditions.
Sometimes short-term pain relief is required of course but our singular mission is to rehabilitate the body back to a state of health and well-being.
We can’t promise that we do it every time, but you will find no office that works harder to help you regain your health and energy so you can live a pain free life.
We’ve worked tirelessly over the last 30 years to discover and treat the real underlying causes of chronic illnesses. Our all-natural treatment protocols are very popular because they work and because people are seeking real solutions.
Each year we are seeing more and more cases of Fibromyalgia, and we have more patients than ever flying in from all parts of the United States after hearing about our successes.
